The following is a sample train order, as taken from an Interstate Commerce Commission Report. This was a &#34;Form 31,&#34; according to the report, the underscored words of Order #54 were printed in type; the other words were written in longhand.&#34; I&#39;d be curious to know the reasons behind this procedure, unless this was simply an anomoly among train orders.

For the record, this was an accident between opposing trains near Pickensville, AL on 8.10.1939 at approximately 12:06am.

These orders were delivered to C&amp;E, Engine 1014 &#40;Train #208&#41;:

Order #54--
<u>Eng</u>. 1054 <u>Run</u> Passgr. <u>Extra, leaving</u> Amory <u>on</u> Wednesday Aug. 9 <u>as follows, with right over</u> all trains.

Lv. Amory 10:30p.m.
Aberdeen 10:50p.m.
Hamilton 11:01p.m.
Kolola Springs 11:10p.m.
Columbus 11:25p.m.
Forreston 11:40p.m.
Pickensville 12:04a.m.
&#42;&#42;&#42;
Arr. Magnolia 2:30a.m.

Order #77
Passgr. Extra 1054 South meet No. 208
Eng. 1014 at Pickensville No. 207
Eng. 1012 has right over No. 208 Eng.
1014 Amory to Pickensville

Train order, from my collection, issued at Belton, Mo on the Clinton Sub

Another Clinton Sub train order. This order would seem to be unique, since it was written the day before it was to take effect. Of course, this may also have been SOP as the day in question might have been a weekend day, and the Centropolis depot could have bee closed. As I recall Clinton Sub trains were required to register here.

Here's another Revision of form CT73. This one is from July, 1977

Note there are significant differences between this version, and the one Chris posted. Most significant is the fact that there are only 35 slots for car information.

I think understand what all the columns are for except the HM column, does anyone know what that would be used for?

I'll upload a better copy of this when I get access to my scanner again.

I found these when I got the switchlist forms I posted previously. This is form CT194, Notice of Freight Arrival, Feb 1972 revision. This is just a 3x5 index card that would be sent to a consignee when a car arrived at a station

(My guess would be at a team track, can someone confirm this?).

The other side of this card has a pre-printed 8 cent postage stamp on it.

The Frisco bought 17 locomotives with the specs listed below. Five went to the KCOS and 12 went to the StL, Oklahoma, &amp; Southern. I believe that they entered the roster as 501-518, and were later renumbered 801-818. The specs given in the locomotive diagram book that I have are a close but not an exact match to those listed in the letter. Stagner's book shows the 809 at Cuba, MO( working the Salem Br?). The photo caption indicates that the date is 1939; the diagram book indicate that the Frisco retired 809 during April 1936. Most of the class was retired during the mid '30's, although 818 left the roster during 1926, and 806 and 813 lasted until the mid '40's.

Regarding Karl Brand&#39;s posting of the 1900 railway review letter: Where did you find these? I&#39;m trying to find proof of the width of the right-of-way at the 1909 original townsite of Verdigris, Oklahoma which is in Rogers County, formerly Indian Territory. The 1909 original townsite was moved and no station was built at that site. Conflicting evidence exists as to whether or not the right-of-way at that site was 100&#39; or 150&#39;. Any help?

I purchased &#40;via sealed bid auction&#41; these letters some 25 years ago from an individual who lived in KC. In TRAINS magazine, he advertised a box of Frisco paper, time tables, etc. This letter is the only one from the box that describes the A&amp;O RR. Other than the values mentioned in the letter, I can offer no other information.

sharolyn, the frisco s.o.p. was 50ft from center line, at stations or townships it was 100ft from center line of nearest track. at verdigris, this would be from the house trk on the west side of the current siding. these measurements came from the trk profiles the company gives to us engineers. i run this part or the railroad most every day.

Stockton never did get a railroad, Frisco or otherwise.

Hum, that's interesting. I did see a map once with a proposed Greenfield-Stockton line. I guess this can be filed along with the Rich Hill-Schell City-Osceola, Arlington-Waynesville-Lebanon & Pilgram-Greenfield-Lockwood lines under "Unfinished Business".

Fascinating stuff. I suspect this is the ghost of the long-dead Laclede and Fort Scott project once again rearing its head.

For those who are unfamiliar with it, the L&FS was an abortive 1870s attempt to build a railroad from Lebanon westward through Buffalo, Bolivar, Stockton, and into eastern Kansas. Grading was reportedly completed as far as Bolivar, but tracks were never laid. At one point the name was changed to St. Louis and Western, but that didn't help either.

Dallas County struggled for seventy years under the burden of the bonds it had incurred for this project, but that's another story, for which I refer the interested reader to the Buffalo Reflex's account: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~veregge/rrpictures/70yrnightmare.html

I seem to recall reading that the MKT's Eldorado Springs branch was built on the route surveyed by the L&FS, and the bones of the project played a part in at least one railroad scheme of the 1880s. See the June 28, 1883 article from this page of newspaper extracts from Mike Good's webpage about Clinton railroads: http://tacnet.missouri.org/history/railroads/nn1883h1.html

I suspect that the folks from Stockton intended to use the L&FS survey and any grading that had been done earlier. However, 1906 was awfully late to be getting into the railroad game, and it seems unlikely that an isolated branchline serving only Stockton would have accomplished much beyond staggering to an early demise.
