All locals/switchers and local service operated with extra and pool crews and assigned a four character train number. The first two digits of the train number indicated the sub-division of operation. Following are the sub-divisions sorted alphabetically and numerically. By going to the sub-division in the division folder and opening the folder called "Station List and Mile Poles" one can cross reference the TPR Stations or the origin and final station numbers to determine the limits of operation.

I have acquired recently a 1937 Riv Div ETT. After a quick perusal, I noted several items of paticular interest.
1. Hoxie Sub trains originated/terminated in Cape and not Chaffee.
2. The Current River Branch was assigned the River Div.
3. The ETT shows operations after the mass 1934-1935 abandonments.
4.Most branch line psgr traffic was handled by Motors" or by mixed trains. My father always refers to the Frisco gas-electrics as a Bull Moose because of the air horn they carried. I don't know if this term is peculiar to him, to Frisco folks, or to folks from SE MO.
5. The Hoxie Sub Psgr train was a Sunday only affair. Otherwise passengers were carried in the daily except Sunday mixed
6.The Piggot Br Motors changed numbers when they left/arrived at Poplar Jct. For example, when the nbd 896 arived at Poplar Jct, it became sbd 823 between Poplar Jct and Poplar Bluff.
7. There was a local psgr train, 822 and 821 that operatd between Kennett and Memphis
8. The Wilson Br was operating its famous Sbd only train.

If I was you I would make a couple of copies of this TT from cover to cover and then seal it up in an airtight bag. 1930's Public TT's are still generally easy to come by but employee TT's from this time period are very, very rare. Thank's for sharing, I see tons of new info from this! Roger

I am interested in your comment about the trains being called Bull Moose. Almost all older folks in my area (Leachville Subdivision) called the train that came through Risco the Moose and I just ran across a Campbell, MO reference where the train was also called the moose. Could you elaborate on what type of engines might have had this unique horn and years used? Thanks!

Any idea when train 3-303 from St. Louis through Monett, Joplin and Wichita became named "The Will Rogers"? Was it while he was still alive?

The Will Rogers name was applied to trains 3-4 after they were upgraded, effective October 18, 1936. This was about 14 months after Will Rogers had been killed in a plane crash in Alaska. Westbound train #3 left St. Louis at 11:59pm and arrived Oklahoma City 12:59pm, while eastbound #4 left OKC 11:30am and arrived STL 12:15am. #4 carried an Oklahoma City-Chicago Pullman (via Alton RR north of STL). The train also initially carried a St. Louis-Oklahoma City Pullman and a non-air conditioned St. Louis-Springfield setout Pullman in each direction, as well as "deluxe lounge" and dining car service.

Public Timetable -
I worked from Enid to Beaumont in the early 60's and we was put up in a great little hotel owned by a rich rancher that did a lot of shipping on the SLSF so he built a very nice small hotel for the tain crews to lay over in when we tied up in that station.
