Frisco GP7s to CNW

Did any Frisco GP7s make it to the CNW wearing black and yellow? Or, were they all red and white by then.

I've seen pics of at least four Frisco GP7's that were in service on the C&NW still wearing their black and yellow garb: SLSF 509, 533, 573, 586. There may have been more.

The C&NW simply sprayed a black patch over the Frisco name and road number, then applied a small CNW and a new road number in the same locations, and changed the number boards to the new number.

That's all in your state of mind. I grew up just west of Chicago in CNW country, then spent 4 years in Atmore Alabama, then moved to Sherman, TX in '77. So, what better place for an ex-Frisco unit to turn up, than in my ol' stompin' grounds !! :D
