Love those Frisco VO's! SLSF 230 clearly shows her four stacks.
We need to find some more pics of the relatively rare Frisco 2-stacker VO-1000's. Does anybody have a roster of the VO-1000's showing the number of stacks on each?
As I recall, most of the lower numbers were 1-stackers, with a couple of 4-stackers thrown in just to keep us confused. The 2-stackers, I think, were mixed in about 2/3 of the way up in the roster, with the bulk of the remaining units 4-stackers with a couple of 1-stackers as well.
BLW must have used the phase of the moon to determine how many stacks to put on the VO-1000's as they built them!

Nice Pictures.
Any chance there is a better picture of the flatcar with #211 (the one carrying wheel sets)?

Following is an attempt I made back in January of this year to list the Frisco VO-1000's stack configuration based on some pics of them that I have. My collection is not complete for the total VO-1000 roster.
quote: VO-1000's:
- Single stackers: Perhaps all of them from SLSF 200 to about SLSF 222, except for 207. But, I don't have them all. There may be a few above 222 as well, but my pics are not complete - I don't have a good shot of all the VO's. Of course, after SLSF 200-208, 210, & 215 were repowered by EMD with 567's, they carried two EMD style stacks.
- Two stackers: For sure SLSF 223, 225, 226, 228, 229. I'm unable to explain 225, as I have a pic of it with two stacks and a pic of it with four stacks. Once again, the Frisco delights in keeping us confused!
- Four stackers: SLSF 207, 224, 225 (see above), 231, 232, 233, 234, 236, 237. :end quote
Based on the pics of SLSF 230 posted above, we can add that unit to the list of four-stackers.

Best I can do on the FLAT with Wheelsets on it.
Any larger and it gets blurly.
Hope this helps

Paul - Maybe this car could be easily modeled by combining the Red Caboose 42ft flat with the Tichy/Gould wheel car load?

I was hoping for a car number, but yes, that appears to be a way to model the car in HO scale. For N-scale, I'd use the Red Caboose 42ft flatcar and a Fine-N-Scale wheel car load (I can scratch build the wheel carrier frame, but the Fine-N-Scale kit comes with some really nice cast metal wheelsets).
