During the 60's Ft Scott was still a busy hub. A Baldwin switch engine worked a daily shift, and the KC Sub, the Afton Sub, and the Ash Grove Sub locals worked in and out of Ft Scott. It was stlll a crew change point. I believe that the RIP track still made minor repairs to cars that were cut from trains.
The 100 foot turntable was extant, and the foundation and pits from the large Ft Scott roundhouse were still evident.
During the 60's the Mp abandoned it's track into town and the Frisco acquired some of it to serve the industries that were left "high and dry".
