Most of the pics I took in Rolla were of our brand new Chemical Engineering/Biochemical Engineering building at Missouri University of Science and Technology (Mo S&T) - we dedicated it Friday, 10/17. But, here are a few Frisco pics I took. I didn't see a single train over the three days, but I heard some at night. I felt like going down to the depot at 8:20pm to see Number 9 come in, like what we did in the old days for a study break, but I...

I had a real great trip to Rolla, and Newburg, this past Thursday (10/16) thru Saturday (10/18). The weather was spectacular. Unfortunately, the Houston House was closed Friday afternoon when I visited down there. Too bad, I had some Frisco stuff for them. Here are a few pics I took of Newburg, the Houston House, the "corner bar", and the main line. - The Houston House is looking a lot better than it did the last time I visited (3 years...

Well, mine has some of the ground cover (woodlands grass) but it dosen't really look very good. My next try might be the sponge type bushes (again woodlands) torn into small peices covering some of the posts and across the top, just glimpses or partially showing the fence in some places. Your fence really looks nice, a well maintained facility. Mine, will have to be the run down, basicly the four foot fencing used many places back maybe 70's or...

I think your fence looks fine William. Like you say you could use some vegetation (I had not thought of that, good idea) on it and maybe dry brush some of the spots if you wanted too. But what you really need is a bunch of those little water bottles poked in the fence :). I see your main tracks are ballasted, tamped and broomed only like a Roadmaster would have it. I think its a fine bunch of modeling there myself. It's a nice looking RR....

Jim, I was really inspired by Tom Holly's fencing, but beings I have a foam surface I needed to try a different way. So I tried the various kits and quickly discovered that most of the kits are so fragile that they fall apart. Now I would have to say I used way too much glue as it easily spread to the areas that clogged the links. I decided that I would put vegatation on the fence, because most fences on the railroad are, in some cases...

This was the worst possible matchup for the Cardinals. They do not play well on the West Coast generally and they do not do well against the Giants, going back to Marichal vs. Gibson. The mistake the cards made (not just Matheny) was putting Wacha on the NLCS roster. As a result, they weren't able to include Freeman, who did some real good work in relief the second half of the season. Freeman would have been a valuable asset for those three disaster games out in SF. BTW, that was the very first stand the cards got swept in this season. They picked the wrong time for it! In fact, they would be much easier because they had only smooth sides ever. If you model one of these, then the ends need to have the solarium windows still intact, unlike the three KC-FS ones.
