I have one but not as pretty as yours. We can trade then you can make mine as pretty as yours and you can keep that. Deal?
Thanks Andre. Those B models are a favorite of mine in the 1:1 world. The first heavy truck I was ever around at work was a B, not comfortable at all but looked cool. I always felt like I was in a WW2 plane with it.
Great job on those Macks. I dont have a single mixer on the MRR I dont think. Yours look like they are well used.
Had to work on the brakes for my Beautiful Bride's car this weekend, but managed to get another bench painted. Three down, four to go. (Not counting the peninsula I need to build for the A&O portion.)
Lookin good Craig. Thanks Tom. I see an awful lot of concrete trucks at work so reference was easy. Ha
Do they make any later models? Hows about the Mack with the offset cab? I always thought those looked kinda weird LOL.
They do make an R model Mack Tom which is new enough to see them once in a while still today. The offsets are U or DM models. Athearn doesn’t but they exist in resin or could be modified from an R the cab looks the same just offset. I agree they are a neat looking, unique truck that way.
Steve, those cement mixers are phenomenal. Wish I had a couple decorated for Cape Ready Mix and McDonald's Concrete.
Thanks Keith. Any chance you could make decals for those? I am of no use there except the install. Weismann I believe offers several eras of concrete trucks for earlier modelers too. Then Athearn covers 60s and newer.
Day late but actually a Frisco project this time! Still plugging along on the yard spotter truck. The chassis is almost done including suspension. Motor is together and getting plumbed along with the tranny. The body got a coat of black and a coat of dark aluminum Alclad.
What scale it this gonna be Steve? Pretty impressive stuff. Do you have a donor kit for the motor, trans and running gear? I bet that spring pack for the rear axle was a heavy set for as much weight as it would be charged with toting around.
Thanks Tom. It is 1/25th scale. The donors are parts box pieces. Plastruct frame, axles from a Lindbergh Dodge that I modified. The motor is a piece a friend cast. I scratchbuilt the same one in my yellow Frisco truck. Then my buddy said he had been working on a master to cast the same thing, so I built one of his so we could get some pics. He made the Allison tranny too. The whole thing is a mish mash of things I scrounge or make myself.
Steve, regarding decals for the concrete mixers, I am working on trying to get some artwork for those.
It will at least be Wednesday when most of you read this. Here is another I just finished up for the same guy I did the CNW SD 40-2 for not too long ago.
