You guys are having a lot of fun and progress!!! I'm going to have to get on the Workshop Wednesday bandwagon so I can start working on my layout again.

Just keep a small digital camera on your work bench. This string is great.

 

If non-Frisco is okay... then I can share some pics eventually. Just not doing anything with my Frisco/diesel stuff of late.

 

Started work on two Athearn BB kits from more years back than I care to count. I couldn't find Frisco kits back then, and didn't know the difference between GP7s and 9s.

The large white Frisco letters were a desperate ancient attempt to make some semblance of Frisco locomotives. Fast forward to today. I now have three Atlas GP7s, then I learned that I could modify the Athearn kits (one powered, one dummy) to make them resemble GP7s.

Here, I am removing the old decals and dynamic brake blisters, as well as filling the holes left behind. Once I can find the article again, detailing the process, and more specifically which fans, I plan to remove the fans and replace them with something more correct and add details from the lists of parts Ken W. and others have posted.

I never got around to running these.

The PRR had over 30,000 of them, so just about every steam/transition layout should have some.

All together. Still need brakewheels on brake rods.

Sorry I have been sick and got nothing accomplished this past week. The black plague has set in on our house.
Chris, that's cool you are using that old article. That caboose is still cruising around in his basement. Hard to believe it is over 40 years old. It has survived pretty well all things considered.

 

Well... I've had a busy week at work, so nothing to speak of has been accomplished this week, but over the past month or so, I've made pretty decent progress converting train set cars into acceptable facsimiles of 1880s rolling stock for my Colorado & Pacific theme. Here's a grouping posed on my workbench (new workbench that's out in my new out-building!) of what I've accomplished during the past month or so:


The above have all had Kadee 33" code 88 wheels installed (except the passenger cars have 36" code 88's), re-detailed, many of them re-trucked, Kadee 58 series couplers installed, etc. Plus, since that photo was taken a couple weeks ago, there's more gons/flats that are in process. Essentially all of the above are ready to be repainted, lettered, and all that jazz.

Though the above may look like a lot... it's only about half of what I need for a basic fleet. (Except for cabeese. I only need a couple more of those. Plus, I will need at least another 4 or 5 passenger cars, too.)
