Notched the shell around the fuel tank. I will probably have to trim it a bit more on the back side. I suppose I need steam generator vents, too... Not sure what I'm going to do with this loco. I thought it looked like a fun project.
We're plowing along here, the Bridge North of Billville is nearing completion. I'm going to make this area a water feature, so after all is finished the dreaded water.
William, is the bridge section a lift out? If so, how are you aligning the section with the rest of the layout. I have a lift out on module 09 and will probably use alignment pins but I would be willing to do something else if it works better.
Yes Keith has seen it and the alignment is under the section. It is two metal strips, after it swings into place it drops about 1/8 inch to lock in. I am having some issues with humidity, I just need to sand a little more.
Bill, not to be lost is the nice looking trestle structure. Kit built, kitbashed or scratchbuilt? We're officially in "severe drought" here, so if the water is too daunting, just scatter some creek rock and debris and scrubby plants alongside where the water would be and call it a severe drought. Best Regards,
That is one of the Bear Creek Kits. I bought the jigs and it makes it fairly easy. It just takes time to put all the nut and washer details. I am going to use the woodland deep pour water, so a flood is coming !
Daughter has commandeered my workshop/bench for a dresser organizer she wanted to build, so nothing to see here. However, I did see an interesting video on Jack Burgess of Yosemite Valley RR modeling fame and how he organizes his workspace, tools and materials. It's lengthy but has provided some ideas.
Good stuff... I also caught the SL-SF Class 151000 car with "Barber Laternal(?) Motion" trucks on his spreadsheet.
Little late, but I have installed my Wing Wall and a Pony Bent or some may call it a false bent. Ballast is being placed and glued. ::::The poster accepts no responsibility for terminology in this post:::::. That fat Bridge Inspector wouldn't even get out of the truck and look under the bridge, Ha Ha, we can get away with anything. Must be a BN guy !!!
Lol. looks good William. That bridge is first class my friend. I would like to see a video of you opening that bridge just to see how it works. Being on a curve and all. Only a Road Master could do that. You gotta permanent 10mph on that?
I've just ballasted the track and colored the river. I applied ModPoge to seal it. As soon as it dries I will put on Woodlands Deep Pour and finish this area. I'll post the finished area next Wednesday
