I got this car done a some time ago but forgot to upload the images here. Made the clevises and tie down rods, To unload the car you can push the pins out of the clevises, but they are small.

I see you put the joke card on the side: "DO NOT HUMP."

Man you got that right. I seen many of them cars get air mailed off the top. We had a retarder operator here in the 90's that loved that pacman game, played it all the time. Once in a while he would let a car get by him, he would come on the radio and say "airmailing one down 16 or 23" whichever track it was lined down, then kaboom. I think the loudest were MT grain hoppers, boy did they go boom.
The hump is long gone hear now.

Visit to Whistle Stop Trains today in Portland, OR. A great store if you get the chance to visit!

I wanted to add a diner to my small HO scale layout that was made from a repurposed passenger car. I started with an MDC 50' passenger car kit and added a kitchen to the back. I also added a base with a brick foundation, concrete landings for each end of the car and a concrete sidewalk out front. I used Evergreen styrene for the base and the kitchen, JTT HO scale brick sheet for the foundation, and Rail-Scale Models Ho scale laser cut 3 tab asphalt shingles for the roof. The handrails are copper wire bent and soldered. I still need to add a vent on the kitchen roof and weather the model. Thank you.

Nice looking shop, I'll have to check that out if I ever visit Portland.

Very nice work on that Mark. It looks like you pulled it right out of a photograph.

Very nice work using relatively inexpensive pieces. That would be a nice addition to almost any layout.

Incredible work. You've got me wishing I could walk in for a burger and a shake.

Where did you get the signs for this project?

Thank You! I found the Pepsi, Dr. Pepper and 7up logos doing a web search. I downloaded the Pepsi logo to Word and resized it to fit my sign. The sign fonts are stock fonts that are in my Word program.
