Ha. Thanks Joe!! I appreciate that. Glad you guys enjoy my projects. Even if a lot are non Frisco.

 

I finished up some customer stuff this week like usual. Plus got to a few of my own Frisco projects. Here is a few pics:

 

A couple years ago I bought a couple old Front Range GP7s and an Atlas one from a large online dealer. When they arrived they were a mess. He might as well just stuck the stamps on the bodies. The handrails were destroyed on all 3. I reassembled the easiest of the 3 a while ago as 632. The other two left me pretty disheartened. So I finally started to repairs this week. They are getting close. I am adding the Frisco parts as needed.






Also I finally got my embossed brick sheets to make the paver eating area on my large scale 1700 caboose taco stand. These came from Czechoslovakia and took a while to arrive. But worth it in the end. The embossing is deep enough that I can add a little fine dirt between them as well as weeds etc.... So with this I can start the eating area at last. I might actually finish that thing someday! HA Once this is under roof and has picnic tables on it I think it will be passable. Well I hope so anyway.

 

I'm ready to start assembly of the bents for coal mine, my goal is to have one or two finished by midnight central time. Will post photos afterwards on my layout build thread.

Well, after 5+ weeks on the road, some time this weekend for Frisco fun. Working on finishing up a few more of these 1905 +/- 5 boxcars. Almost ready for some weathering....

Not Wednesday but......... did take a few project pics today. A couple customer Tangent gons. Not too beat but looking like they have been through some northern winters anyway. The GP15 was from Bob Thomas, Allagash box from Mike Confalone and an Intermountain covered hopper I did up with a set of old Herald King Michigan Elevator Exchange decals. Gloomy day and it started to snow before I could shoot anything else. Oh well next time,. enjoy these anyhow. Thanks for lookin', Steve

Christmas gift arrived today from @Modeltruckshop (Steve). A flat car loaded with 3D-printed Renault FT-17 light tank, painted from a photo of George S. Patton as a young officer.

Good Morning All. Merry Christmas Eve,

I had some time off of work yesterday and worked on a couple of car projects. The first was an underframe retrofit of an Accurail boxcar that had been decaled with some early Frisco Line K4 decals. I have had some success building the Frisco System cars using these methods and this one certainly warrants the same treatment. While it should have more safety equipment stripped away from the Accurail release, I think this is an improvement. I also replaced the Andrews trucks with some 5-ft 40 ton Tahoe model works arch bar trucks. I will still add brake hoses and uncoupler levers.

I also had this resin boxcar that I started on last year during the holidays. It has sat in a box due to the fact that I ruined the underframe when trying to build the model. I decided to make a 40-ft version of the truss rod underframe from an Accurail bottom, and it turned out OK. This one is ready for some FRISCO billboard decals, and soon a batch of weathering for the recent builds. I am not sure I will ever be a big resin car fan, but have a few to keep trying....

Last Workshop Wednesday for 2021,

Hey all, a couple of projects this week have made some progress. Worked on decaling these cars, a roundhouse 36-ft car with Precision Design Co decals for Frisco System, a 40-ft resin boxcar (NP model, I think) decaled with a FRISCO billboard set, and a Bachmann combine finally decaled for a Weir City mixed train.



I still will add a few small details...the 36-ft boxcar needs a brake wheel. Both boxcars need stirrups. Maybe some brake lines, and cut levers. Oh well, never done.

Not wednesday or Frisco but here is one I have almost got wrapped up for my stash. Ex Conrail 8-40CW patched to the NS after the merger. I liked the primed nose after a little fender bender and all the other colors on it. I still am waiting on A-line wipers for it and a photoetched exhaust from Tony Sissons,but its close.Thanks for lookin', Steve
