This bridge is at Goltry, Oklahoma on Frisco's Avard Subdivision.

It is still there today, I took these yesterday, 1/30/2014.

This wood trestle and the few left on the Western end of the Avard Subdivision will soon be upgraded.

They will be replaced with concrete and steel.

And you thought Western Oklahoma was flat! :)

    This is Bridge Z564.2.

The wood pile trestle consists of 11 panels with 4 ply chords. It is 31' high and 152' feet long.

If untouched by the BN or the BNSF, the bridge was driven during 1932.

Edit 1/30/2024: Bridge was west of Goltry OK, south of Oklahoma Highway 45. It stood just east of the Avard Subdivision crossing of Oklahoma Highway 45, MP 563.25. The trestle was replaced in the spring and early summer of 2014.

The replacement bridge is a segmental concrete pan ballast deck on steel piles span. Today there are six panels on five steel pile bent piers. Each bent is made up of three H-beam piles that have X shaped cross bracing. The center bent has a grouped pair of bents. The bents have precast concrete caps.

There are modular segmental concrete abutments on each end. To reduce the risk of persons on the bridge from falling, each side is protected with guardrails featuring two horizontal round pipe rails on pipe stanchions.

The bridge spans a normally dry wash.
