From Richard Crabtree on Frisco Rails Across Missouri:
We are in Shannon County Missouri along the Frisco's Current River Branch. More than likely taken near Winona, Missouri. Love the wooden cab of the truck, nice touch ~ Ozark ingenuity!

  2. Look at the wagon's wheels. That's so old they still had mountain lions back then in Shannon County.

From Richard Crabtree on Frisco Rails Across Missouri:
Here we are on the Frisco Current River Branch. First laid out by the Kansas City Fort Scott & Memphis to connect with the lumber company in Grandin, Mo.
The Current River Branch would eventually connect up with the River Division giving folks access to St Louis and SE Mo.

I can't even understand why, on God's green earth, anyone would expend the time and energy to to edit an old railroad photo to represent something that it wasn't. Aside from Don's occasional April 1 dillys, which are good clean fun. Otherwise, someone has way more free time and mental bandwith on their hands than I do.

That being said, I've always liked the Winona depot as a good sized, 40s era standard board-and-batten depot.
