Wichita Kansas Yard Track Plan - New Yard - January, 1954

Thanks to Tony LaLumia (friscotony), I am able to post the Wichita Kansas Yard Track Plan ca.1954.

I had to prevail upon my friend Stephen Priest, who has a wide format scanner that can scan documents up to 42" wide and any length.

Tony, it was a long time coming, but here it is.

Note the Wichita Yard is oriented on a north-south axis.

When the Google Maps link opens the view is rotated 90 degrees clockwise (north is to the right). This initial link orientation provides the best opening view of the overall area, as most computer screens are oriented where width is greater than height.

One can rotate the view orientation with the map compass in the lower right hand corner.

Talk about your modelable yards that offer a lot:

• Small switching operations
• Small engine/RIP facilities
• Large Flour Mill that would provide some extra industrial switching (and would make a good backdrop to boot),
• Interchange

Thanks for that clarification, I posted the scanned image and Google Satellite image in the horizontal orientation to make it easier to read and relate the two.
