Cardinals are like striking a match .. A brief burst of brightness, then glows dim.

So happy for the KC Royals!

PS .. Don't get me wrong .. I hate the Giants!

Well, that sucks. So much for another I-70 series. I'm guessing Fox Sports just breathed a huge sigh of relief.

Well the Cards lost, but so much for Wainright being washed up,and they lasted a while longer than the Kershaws...

    Real Bummer, that was!
Too many pitching changes by Mathney ... I don't understand why?

He brought in Wacha because he didn't have anybody left that hadn't poured some gasoline on the fire...Besides, the Giants are pretty good!

The mistake the cards made (not just Matheny) was putting Wacha on the NLCS roster. As a result, they weren't able to include Freeman, who did some real good work in relief the second half of the season. Freeman would have been a valuable asset for those three disaster games out in SF.

BTW, that was the very first stand the cards got swept in this season. They picked the wrong time for it!

We gotta get a couple of guys who can hit in the clutch.

Saw this elsewhere on the web, and it's correct: The Giants can't beat the Dodgers, the Dodgers can't beat the Cardinals and the Cardinals can't beat the Giants. This was the worst possible matchup for the Cardinals. They do not play well on the West Coast generally and they do not do well against the Giants, going back to Marichal vs. Gibson. Good luck to the Royals.

Here's wishing the KC Royals a good start tonight. Personally, I cannot wait!

Congratulations on the Chiefs win over the Chargers too!

Congratulations to the Kansas City Royals for a terrific post-season run! I was rooting for them to win, and am sorry they did not. No love here for the SF Giants! I know my family in Olathe, and lots of my KC friends, are very disappointed, but it is tough to win the World Series. Your team gained a bunch of great experience and exposure, and will be back at it next season. Go to the "K" often and see them!

I am a life-long St Louis Cardinal fan, I bleed Cardinal red, and always will be a member of Cardinal Nation. We lost to the Giants too - ¤¤¤¤ that "Bum"! But, I'm also a big baseball fan no matter the team, and played the game (but not well), and watch a lot of games. During the 2014 post-season play, I watched the Royals often, and fell in love with this particular KC team. I have never seen such great defensive play, their speed is terrific, they take terrific at-bats, their pitchers can really hum the seed, they hustle and they play together wonderfully as a TEAM. I'm sure we will see them again in the post-season playoffs.

And, it must be said, for the Giants the "Bum" was simply spectacular as well.

My Cardinals lost the series last year to the Red Sox, so we understand the agony. But, take pride in how your team impressed fans everywhere. I'm even a Royals fan now, and after 1985, that is saying something!

And, wasn't it great how the two Missouri "fly-over territory" teams just simply skunked the two gazillion-dollar LA teams!

Tuff loss, but to the Royals - a "well done". See you next year in inter-league play, and maybe in the post-season. And, thanks to the Royals for the classy tribute to Oscar Tavares last night.

Sad end for all of us I guess. I am a lifelong Cardinals fan but I was cheering for the Royals. I would just have liked to see a victory for the State of Missouri (where I hope to someday return).

One bight spot from the Royals' loss: Vegas had picked the Royals to win the series, with that in mind, my fervent hope is that LOTS of gamblers lost LOTS of money betting on the series!!!

I believe this pretty much sums it up. More Royals fans cried when we made the playoffs this season vs. loosing game 7 of the WS including myself. Spring training starts in 3 months and two weeks! Here we go 2015...
