Easy KC, easy KC !!! You are very new at this, be cool ...... you don't have Denkinger to help you out any more. You have a long way to go yet. And, come over and visit this side of our state some time! Home of the Frisco, among many, many other fine things!

And so - on to my reason for posting ..... I wanted to post some interesting statistics regarding LA Dodger pitcher Clayton Kershaw, aka the media's "Wonder Boy", "MVP-MVP-MVP", "obvious Cy Young winner", et al: Over his last four seasons, including post season play, he has been the most dominant pitcher in major league baseball: 70 wins, 22 losses, against all MLB teams played other than the St Louis Cardinals. And, his record against the Cardinals over the same four years, including post season play: 3 wins, 8 losses. Yep.

All that "big time" money the LA Dodgers, and the LA/Anaheim Angels, have spent on their "big time" players, and all the associated hype, have yielded exactly ZIP. Enjoy your $$$ on the golf courses guys!, including you, "da Meng" ..... again. The two Missouri teams quickly sent you both packing for home.

Yes, I'm a bit emotional over this, I apologize. We had quite a Cardinal Nation party tonight beginning in the bottom of the 7th inning when "Wonder Boy" cratered yet again. This is fun! Way to go "Big City"!

Best luck to the Royals - you KC fans have suffered for 29 years (!) and deserve some fun again as well, but keep your cool. Very nice team by the way, I've enjoyed watching them. The Cardinals, and Cardinal Nation, have enjoyed coming over to the "K" each season and providing you with your, until lately, infrequent sold-out stadiums. Been there a few times myself!

A repeat of the I-70 series, with competent umpires this time, would be a whole lot of fun. I can say I don't know which team would win - it would be a great match. The Royals have a whole lot to be proud of, as do our 'birds.

Ah yes, the St.Louis boys always bring up Derkinger to justify their loss in game 6 of the 85 World Series. Never mind all the blown calls in the Cards favor before or that they could not get 1 more out after Denkinger's call. And where were the Cards in game 7? 11-0 is an awful embarrassment to be carrying around all these years. The Royals have always had the Cards number, look at the interleague games, come on back to KC if you want another whoopin'.

FYI administrators - I don't intend to continue this thread, as it has nothing to do with the Frisco.

But, I will repeat - Easy KC, easy! Sit back and enjoy this without all the bravado. After 29 years (~10,592 days) of inept, embarrassing, ill-attended baseball in KC, you ought to keep your powder dry. In particular, when you will be facing the O's first, then either the Cardinals or the Giants second, all three of which have a long record of successes far, far in excess of KC's, and all of which draw fans in the seats way beyond what KC fans have delivered. And, your statistics, and your spelling, posted above are also in need of revision.

The Royals are a really nice team, and I enjoy watching them play. The O's will be tough, but I'll be watching and rooting for the Royals. But, I'm a lifetime member of Cardinal Nation, so we will see what happens. The Redbirds will have their hands full with the Giants as well.

It's safe now, Cards fans- Bret Saberhagen has long since retired, so no fears of another 11-0 shutout.

 

Incidentally, is it me, or am I the only one who appreciates the fact the NLCS is a St. Louis-San Francisco series?

You said it. I was worried that they had a case of Mizzouitis. Four-plus hours at Memorial Stadium on Saturday had me completely in shock. It felt good to come home and spend time on the layout after seeing that game.

Big congrats to the KC Royals for winning the AL Pennant! I really enjoy watching the Royals play. They seem to get most of the breaks ..... because they play great team baseball and they severely outhustle their opponent. Well done!

My only question is ..... how in the world did the Baltimore Orioles ever win their division? Completely outplayed by the Royals.
