  2. :) Every day I seen them. My house is right off the Arkansas & Missouri (Ex-Frisco) line in Van Buren, Ark. I love my house get a great view of the line. Now I'm a conductor on the Van Buren to Winslow passenger train. So I get to get close and personal with A&M's locomotives.
    Ship it on the Frisco!!!

Do they still use the T-6 switcher to pull the hoppers up the hill?

when i came through there yesterday they were useing all threee to move cars around, there were all kinds of mopac,c&nw and arkansas missouri, cars it the yard was nice to see something different for a change, all i see in springfield is bnsf, but today there is a canadian national engine in the yard but i cant fully see it to determine what kind it is

What's the diffrence bettwen Missouri and Arkansas and Missouri and North Arkansas? The in Lamar the BNSF speeds thorugh were the ash grove sub was, but then on the north-south track the UP/MNA creeeeeeeeeeeeep by. Normaly it takes 10 minutes for a train to go trough on that line, but generaly the MNAs run fast than the UP trains.

  7. I got a nice patched DRG&W unit today and the T-6 is mainly used with the other two to bring cars cross the river from Fort Smith into the Van Buren yards and hook them to the UP trains. The most MoPac cars seem to be on the industrial spur leading to a grain mill off 59 HYW. I also saw a Santa Fe engine unpatched on the locomotive track in the UP yards.
    Ship it on the Frisco!!!

An overly simplified explanation, but hopefully it helps.

The Missouri and Arkansas was the Harrison AR based line from Joplin MO to Helena AR.

The Arkansas and Missouri is the current short line running on the old Frisco Ft Smith sub, Monett MO to Ft Smith AR.

Neither are to be confused with the Missouri and Northern Arkansas, formerly the Iron Mountain and Southern.
