Hello, Here are some pictures I took of this small Diesel Locomotive, sorry I can't tell what kind it is. This Diesel Locomotive is located next to the Diesel Shop on The A&M RR in Springdale, Ark. Maybe someone can help me out here.

For more on the A&M's roster, see Mike Condrens pages on each model. I believe the T6's spend most of their time in Fort Smith, sometimes used on the passenger runs. Coonskin can provide lots more info on them, I'm sure.

    Re: What is this??

This engine was on lease for many years by a subsidiary of the A & M. It has been at the same location for about eight years.
The car behind is a 1927 ACF built express car for the that served on the IGN/MP and later UP. The A & M bought the car from the UP about 1990. The car was in the process of being renovated to a museum but the 2002 A & M change ended the project being done by the Springdale chapter of the NRHS.

Hello, Here is a picture of the car, that is sitting behind the small Diesel Locomotive. As what I can find out from the post before this, this is a 1927 ACF built Express Car. To me I think it is a Baggage Car, maybe, but I am not sure about that. So if anyone know anything about either the small Diesel or the Express Car, please let me know. I would to know more information about these equipments. Thanks for the little information on the small Diesel Locomotive, but like to know more. So I am open for more information on the small Diesel Locomotive or the Express Car.

"Baggage cars" are the common term, but they also carried U. S. Mail (Actually "storage" mail, which was mail not sorted en route), Railway Express (The FedEx and UPS of the day) as well as passenger baggage and bulk magazines and newspapers.
If this car is class of 1927, it probably isn't a Frisco. The last Frisco baggage cars were delivered in 1926, 1928 and 1930. And those cars had "turtle-back" roofs. It might have been a Missouri Pacific car though, they had some monitor roof cars from that era.

The car is definitely MoPac. You can still see the car number on one of the end doors and the MPHS folks verified its history. I'm not at home so can't cite the specifics, but there is no question about the car. As I recall, the truck pedistals also have MoPac or MP or something cast into them.

Yes, Alco T-6, 1000HP, 6 cyl 251B engine, produced from 1958-1969. Alco didn't sell very many, less that 60 I think. PRR & N&W had them, plus several industrial and short lines.

Beneath the car was an equipment trust certificate plate indicating it was first used on the IGN. The truck pedestals are marked MP if I recall correctly.
The car had tin floors and and vertical stanchions that were likely used to separate crates of perishables such as strawberries. The tin floor had drain holes and the car as built had vents on each corner that were later plated over. It was last used in UP MOW service and than used as a place to store railroad artifacts owned by the A & M's founder Tony Hannold.
The locomotive at one time was in lease service and had a metal round nose herald with the word Allied which I recall was a subsidiary of the A & M.

Hello, if anyone else know anything else about this small Diesel Locomotive and the Baggage/Express Car, please do share. Also do anyone know where I can find the owner of these equipments, or even know how to get ahold of them??
The reasons why I am asking is because I am trying to start a new RR Museum. I already have a building for the museum, but now I am looking for RR Equipments to add to it.
If anyone is interest in this new RR Museum I am trying to start, please let me know and I will tell you more about this new RR Museum.

ADMIN - Re: What is this?

Brian, with apologies to both Karl and Tom, I will attempt to address each of your questions:

    (1) I believe Karl's "deja vu all over again" comment (quoth Yogi Berra) is a reference to the non-Frisco-related request for assistance in a railroad preservation venture.

    (2) I believe Tom's reference to "obsession" refers to the same, i.e. your non-Frisco-related request for assistance in a railroad preservation venture.

Please see my private message to you from a couple of weeks ago. I never received a reply, so I presume you have not seen it. Please send a private message to me if there is anything I can clarify.

As it has been previously stated before, please limit your posts to Frisco-related items (prototype or modeling). I don't know how to be more clear or concise than this.

    Best Regards,

As a fellow Moderator with both Chris and Charlie, I must also agree with their assessments of your posts. I do give you credit, deserved or not, that you do have a canny ability of TRYING to slip in comments about your non-Frisco related endeverors after you have already been told to refrain.

This forum has been very forgiving (far more than most) in giving you what I believe are 3 chances to be a participant. All we have asked is that you simply follow the rules. If you want at this point to try and show some contrition and cooperation, start by removing your tag line with the exception of your name because every time that you post, you end by sending a reminder to all of us about your past mistakes and quite frankly, your real purpose of being here.

I for one sincerely hope that you get the message we are all trying to convey.
