This afternoon I finished laying track in the Henning St. Yard, all the track is in on the West Bottoms. So I celebrated my Golden Spike moment, I suppose it is more like a Golden (last tube of) DAP Dynaflex 230 ceremony. In celebration I drained a can of Diet Coke, but the ceremony was cut short when wife informed me it was my turn to walk the dogs.

Maybe a 28 by 12 foot switching layout is not much, but given my talking about building a railroad for 25 years it is an acheivement to get this accomplished in 2010. Some wiring to do, but in 2011 the plans are scenery and operations. I'll try and get some more pictures with a little better lighting than last time.

John, I know that I and the other modelers in the KC area are very proud of what you have accomplished. I know that you feel good about what you have done and it will only get better.

Now. to get the others here who have been talking so long to follow-through as well.

John, not bad for a Jayhawk. :)

From one Division Superintendent to another, congratulations! Your work has been inspiring. We look forward to the pictures and updates as you start to operate!

    Congratulations John!

This is inspiration for me, in my 8'x20' section of the basement!

Prior to buying my current home, for years, I kept saying: "just need a basement...just need a basement...". Well, I've had one for ten years and still don't have a layout. So, I can understand how that "model train layout desire" can be easily placed on the back burner.

Looking forward to pics, and possibly, perhaps a visit  ...

Thanks for sharing your enthusiasm and excitement!
