Hello, I wanted to say that work continues on the VO-1000m SLSF 200, and it was fired up for static testing recently. Paint is to be the next project as well as finishing some things shop forces discovered in the fire-up. I was hoping to inquire regarding the builder's plates when EMD rebuilt the units, however. From photographs a standard EMD plate was applied to the cabs (whilst the round Baldwin plates remained on the frame), however what serial number did EMD place on their plates, the existing Baldwin serial or did they apply their own "0-4-4-0 SW1200" serial numbers as part of the repowering? The plates were all gone by the end of Frisco ownership in 1979 or so, and certainly any remaining ones were lost in the remanufacture that the survivors underwent.

    Thank you,

    'PullmanCar'

I did see the pictures and want to run over and see it in person. Looked like it might have been a little red. I heard the fellows at scale trains helped some how. This may account for the red touch. Might just be camera angle or me also. One thang for sure it is great to see the first Diesel locomotive restored to running condition and color.
