This is a link to a youtube video I just stumbled upon of an Alabama Gulfcoast Railway locomotive with a covered hopper before and after it picks up an empty car. The video was shot at the Gulf Beach Hwy crossing at the end of W. Main St. in Pensacola. I was just at that very spot back in July to visit the current end of the the old line. From the condition of the track, I never would have thought this segment was still in use. It looks abandoned but obviously it's not. I couldn't believe the signal at 1:22 still works. Here's the link... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_WrAjRTdFGw&list=HL1356933043
I used to watch trains on this line back in the 80's. I also thought it was abandoned until I saw a train on it! The signal at 1:22 is at E Street and was installed in 1987. It is probably the newest one on that line. This is a video I took of the tracks a few years ago. They were in the same condition back in the 80's.
