Cataloging some perferated stamps and ran cross some with a large "FL" perforated (Holes punched) in the stamps, indicating these were stamps that were used by the ST-L-SF RR. Any other perforated stamp collectors in this group??
In case other Frisco-Dot-Org chat boarders aren't familiar with perforated stamps ("FL" was of course for "Frisco Lines"), the stamps were so marked to keep employees from putting the company stamps to personal use. When I worked at the Springfield Post Office, the Frisco mail messenger used to bring large amounts of mail with those stamps each day from the General Office Building. Mail from the other Frisco offices around town would also be marked with the perforations. Tom
