    Taken during 1973 at KC's 19th Street Yard's old Coach Yard, the 109163 is serving more as a storage structure than a piece of MOW rolling stock. Sporting a broken knuckle, and with an old caboose step propped against the door, it's been awhile since this car has turned a wheel. The trust plate is still in place.

    I think that it's a nice touch that the new MOW number was painted in yellow (gold), and not black or white.

    For a comparison, one can view this same car from the same angle in Louis A. Marre-Gregory J. Sommers's book "Frisco In Color" on page 124. Taken 3 years earlier it is numbered 467.
