Some of these company photos were also included in the February 1989 issue of ALL ABOARD. These were a great help when doing the artwork for Tom Stolte and the OddBalls decal set.
The photos are nice. They gave me a better idea of how the auto rack were built. I plan on rebuilding a tyco one. Frisco only had 89' auto racks and one 42' 6" auto rack. They didn't have 50' auto racks, did they?
My scratch-built model of the first P-S production tripple deck autorack flat 3001 won an achievement award at the North Central Express 2010 convention in Livonia, MI yesterday. The judges were kind!!!!!! They were built in 1960 and scrapped by 1979.
My write up for attachment to the judges' scoring sheet might be of interest to some of you modelers who are NMRA members. Here it is.
