By the way, the "All Aboard" portion of the logo is different as well. Mike did a major re-work job and you will notice that the quality of that portion of the header is several hundred percent better. Stay tuned, we have more coming...
Very Nicely Surprised This Morning With The "New Styled" Header! Hat's off and a show of hands to whomever is responsible. A real home run with this.
Mike (SLSF Freak), one of our staff members, is doing all of the graphic work on the site. He does excellent work! Charlie
I do not like the yellow. Overview of Frisco is factually incorrect. Frisco was not a model of financial integrity until 1950s. (see receiverships (1893-1896),( 1913-1915) and (1932-1947.)
I have been working on another style idea for the pages that is centered around the Meteor and Firefly color schemes. When I get it completed (which is taking some time), I'll provide a sample look. It doesn't differ so much from the current styles but adds highlights of colors from the Meteor and Fireflys.
And Major MAJOR thanks to Mike Condren who allowed me to peruse his archive and use materials for this project. Trying to find the right locomotives at just the right photographic angle to produce this type of lineup would have been a lot more difficult without his help. FWIW I call this header "Generations" for obvious reasons: Charlie and the team have more to come so stay tuned... -Mike
If the "generations" montage is to be the new header, I'd say let's do it. It is very impressive. Also, the comment regarding "financial integrity" is spot-on. Like the MoPac and the Rock Island, the Frisco was a shaky jake for significant parts of its history. GS
