Guys and gals, It looks like we just outgrew our server here for Frisco.org. I think the only alternative is to move the site onto the new TrainBoard server, which is a very powerful (and brand new) server. This may happen within the next few days and it would mean a bit of downtime (just a few hours). If anyone has anything to say about this, speak now. Thanks, Charlie
When the server change is done you will notice no changes whatsoever. Well, it might run faster. Charlie
Thanks Charlie. Great job! I remember when I was worried about a couple of megabytes of storage space, and we've grown to over 20 gigabytes of images, texts, and discussions. Now we will have even more room to grow. Best, mike
Here's an update folks; I have not been able to get this moving as quickly as planned due to just being busy. I plan on making this happen over the weekend so if you come around and the site is not working or so on, please just be patient and check back in an hour or so. Charlie
Could we get a few test posts here as people stop by to gauge the functioning of the site at this time? There are always a couple of glitches when you move a site. Maybe a prediction of whether the Cardinals or Red Sox will win the World Series. Cardinals Charlie
I'm with you on that and I live in Red Sox country. Test post from Tapatalk here.... Sent from my SCH-R950 using Tapatalk 4
New server seems to be working fine. Thanks, Charlie, for all your efforts. Cardinals - in six or seven. Should be a neat series - the two best teams in baseball. Last February we saw a Cardinals - Red Sox spring training game at Jet Blue Park in Fort Myers. Who would have thought those were the two teams that would have the best record in the 2013 season, and would meet in the series. (BTW, the 'birds won that game easily in February!) Ken
And to think ... I thought it would be the Dodgers and Tigers this year. Sure glad that I do not bet on sports!
Charlie - Sorry I've been "off the Frisco grid" for a few weeks. Things are looking okay; however, I noticed that I posted several items last night and now they're nowhere to be seen. ??? Cardinals in 7. I'd rather have faced the Tigers and their suspect middle-to-late inning relief corps, but it's what you do with what you got. Once tomorrow night rolls around, I'll probably be offline as long as the W.S. continues, and will subsequently be completely useless each workday for about a week. We have a very dear friend in Glawstuh, MA who is a lifelong Red Sox fan, so this is a fun time for all of us. The good news is that we're not Yankees fans, or else I'm sure we wouldn't have been welcome in either Gloucester, Rockport or any other points on Cape Anne. Wacha, Wacha, Wacha!
Chris, Your posts could have hit at just the wrong moment. I had shut down pending the move but then turned it back on because I thought it was not going to happen but then it did so a post or two might have gotten lost. Charlie Sent from my SCH-R950 using Tapatalk 4
A full upgrade of the forum and of Tapatalk has occurred this evening. Please advise of any trouble. Charlie
