Among Frisco fans, Scullin steel is noted for its contribution of disc drivers to the Frisco's 4300's and 4400's. Likewise, the Frisco's 3695 was sold to Scullin Steel for use as an industrial switcher. The ties between these two St Louis companies goes back to the turn of the 20th century. John Scullin and B.F. were personal friends, and John's son Harry, drew upon these close ties to gain every possible advantage to get Scullin cast bolsters on a large order of 1035 dump cars, which ACF, another St Louis area company, was building; that's 2070 bolsters.
