I just got the list of what versions of the 1060-1069 will be available. Now is the time to reserve what you want with me. Estimated cost will be in the vicinity of $1850 to you. Study the list and if you are serious about getting one, PM or email me the stock number and quantity. These are going to be very special and beautiful models!
Don, I have tried to send you a pm today because I wanted to change the version I listed last week in my pm, but an error message says that you are not receiving pms. Could you please send me a pm so that we can be on the same page on my order? Thanks, Terry
Here is a link to Brass Trains web site page announcing the Hudsons and showing photos of the different versions that will be available. Please note that he is offering some versions in different engine numbers also, so specify which number you would prefer. Now is the time to get on board. Contact me if you want to reserve one of these. PM me as I don't have the price available yet, but know it will be high, like the Firefly models. Also coming this Fall are the Firefly three car trains. http://www.brasstrains.com/NewBrass/Trains/Roads/12/Frisco-St-Louis-San-Francisco-
Anybody have any evidence the Hudson ever pulled freight? I know the 1500's were considered something of a dual service engine, but all of the photo's of the Hudson's I have show them pulling varnish. Brad
I've seen a lot of 1060's photos (My collection and elsewhere) and I can't recall any photos of the 1060's with a freight, but there is one (In Collias' Frisco Power) of a 1060 as a 4-6-2 before its conversion to a Hudson. Tom G.
In the book "Frisco Folks," under the photo of Hudson #1066 with skirts removed, the caption says that these engines were preferred for fast freight as well. Probably a post-war phenomenon as the engines were reassigned and before the "Frisco Fast Freight" became a thing of the past as the "load em up with everything they can haul" diesel philosophy took hold about 1950. Ken McElreath
I've never seen a photo of one on a freight train. I guess it's possible, but I've seen no evidence. The Burlington used theirs on freight. The 1060 4-6-2s were used on hotshots in OK in the '30s, maybe that's what they meant.
Hey, Don, do you know if this project is still in the works? The PSC site does not show them even though they are shown at the BrassTrains websight? Terry
