Thanks for allowing me to join. Back in 1998, I started an Extant Roundhouse database through the NRHS at the urging of a fellow chapter member, Jim Wrinn, now editor of TRAINS. It lists 295 roundhouses in the US, 200 of which remain in some form. The database is available to all on the NRHS Administrative website at https://admin.nrhs.com/HRSS/. I am currently working on a much larger related effort, that being a Bygone Roundhouse database. It is currently at 2,105 properties (in addition to the 295 Extant properties), and is still growing. I've come across this site in the past, but some plans I saw for the Beaumont, KS roundhouse(s), caught my eye. I'm collecting data, plans, and photos for all US roundhouses. As an architect, this combines my love of railroads and architecture perfectly.

I updated Richard's post so the URL shown is actually a hyperlink and will get you to the site.
