    If you haven't looked at that picture, it's a really good study on how very late era Frisco steam was decorated. Cab roofs were red, "boxcar red" at least. In its last days,1522 was being used in freight trains (note brakeman doghouse). I think its last run was a freight out of Ft. Scott?? Still an oil burner (not like 1503 which was converted back to coal) and it still had yellow passenger engine lettering, but no Doric striping. This is how I want to model 1522 (or its sisters) in the very late steam, early diesel period.

    I think you can only say that SOME cab roofs were red. I have sent a photo to you off line (because it is not mine) to support that.
