Amtrak riders got a chance to enjoy rare passenger mileage on the Frisco while riding the morning River Runner from St. Louis to Kansas City due to a UP derailment at Eureka. Engine 50 pulled 3 cars westbound past Windsor Springs (Kirkwood) around 10:00 AM. Earlier, there was an eastbound inter-modal train with two UP locomotives pulling and two more, one UP and one BNSF, mid-train. I will spend a lot of time tending the garden this afternoon (with the camera nearby). There are likely to be more unusual trains to see.
