    I keep terrible records.

Does anyone remember the prices charged by the discount pushers we all use for the following Frisco HO locomotives?

    Athearn EMD SD45 (recent release)
    Atlas GE B30-7
    Atlas EMD MP1500
    Broadway SW7
    Atlas GP38
    Atlas Alco RS-2 (MKT)

No, I'm not getting out of the hobby, but I'm going to thin my collection a bit. I have way too many locomotives. It's a major weakness when they are Frisco!

These are essentially unused, unbuilt, units. I haven't decided which to offer yet, I just want to have an idea of my cost position on them.

    Thanks if you can help.

Brand new BLI SW7's/NW2's go for about $135 - $149 on eBay. Within the past two weeks I paid $149 for Frisco #303 and $99 (NIB surplus being sold by a hobbyist) for #301.

I didn't know Atlas made an HO RS-2?

EDIT: Forgot to add that the BLI Frisco units I purchased are DCC/Paragon2 sound equipped. Also, just noticed a NIB Frisco #303 on eBay with a Buy It Now price of $124.90

I picked up a BLI SW7 for 50 bucks at the train show in Bixby (OK) back in 2009. It's DCC-ready, but I have yet to install a decoder. As for the RS2, I wonder if that was an error- Atlas makes RS3s.

Ken, let us know, if some are DCC and Sound. I have a few installs to do, but I am just about to the point where its better for me to get all the goodies rolled into one. Ready to roll is the way for me.

None of the units have DCC or sound. I'm not yet in to that. All are good old plain DC.

Yes, the MKT Atlas unit is a RS-3,, not a RS-2. My mistake.

Ken, here is what I have in mind for prices:
SD45 - $75-130. Depends on if you can get a couple of people to start a bidding war on ebay. More often than not they go for 100+ because of their rarity
    B30-7 - $70
GP38 - $60. This unit had lost a lot of interest before the release of Athearns new GP38. With that one out, it will be hard for this one to compete.
MP15 - $60-90. I put a range on this one because you never know how much these will go for. I seem to always see #362 being sold, so if you have #364 to sell, that might help your chances.

I don't have any idea on the Sw7 or the RS3.

    Thanks Ethan. Very helpful.

Does anyone have records of what these things cost new from our regular discount "pushers"? Unfortunately I did not keep such records.

Look up the MSRP of the item at the time it was released and discount about 25% to 30%. I believe that Atlas locomotives fell closer to the 25% range and Athearn closer to the 30% range.
