The Feb.27, 1983 trip was mainly focused on Hoxie & what I missed during the 1st trip. These photos show where the branch connected with main line at the south leg of the wye . This was removed sometime in the mid-1970's along with 2nd MoPac crossing

While walking north along the mainline I took this photo of the Pocahontas Branch where the north & south legs of wye would have joined together.

This is the where the north leg connected with the mainline at Lawrence St., this would be the only connection with Pokey until it was abandoned in 2004.

Moving up to Annie St., this was the view looking north. The 2nd photo shows the remains of the south leg Annie St. Xing.

Next is the Edgar St. Xing, this where the Hoxie passing track began. I once saw a map where the predecessor company Hoxie, Pocahontas & Northern proposed to continued south of Hoxie connecting with Rock Island at Newport.

Driving north of Hoxie I stopped where the College City spur crossed HWY 67 & took these photos. Today this is a hiking trail, the spur was built during WWII to serve the Air Force base.

Heading north into Pocahontas I only took these 2 photos of the end of the line. I guess I figured I covered the rest of the area in the earlier trip.

I was really curious to the what it looked like north of Pocahontas so I continued north on HWY 62. A couple of miles later I found where it once crossed HWY 62.

Continuing north I lost sight of the roadbed so I took the 1st left off on HWY 62 to see if I was still following it. Less than a 1/2-mile later I found the ROW at the old station of Running Lake. This was the end of trip for this day, I didn't have a map as I didn't plan on going past Pocahontas. Roger
