Anybody out there in frisco.org a New York Central fan?

One of the few railroad related things that survived the onslaught of our estate sale this past weekend was my pile of New York Central System Historical Society quarterly bulletins.

I have all the issues from 1970-1974 in one bound volume, plus the quarterly individual issues from 2002 through 2015.

They will all fit in a Large Priority Mail box, which costs $18.75 to ship, so if you will let me make a bit more than $10 on the deal, I'll ship them all to you for the total sum of $30.

The bulletin is called "The Central Headlight" and it is well done, with lots of b/w and usually color pics and the usual HS topics - locos, steam and diesel, freight cars, passenger cars, depots, operations, physical plant, accidents, motor cars, streamlining, Dreyfus, etc. These are good reads.

If interested, let me know via PM. Thanks.

Folks - the NYC historical society booklets are still available. There are about 58 of them - at $30 that is just slightly more than 50 cents per issue.

You will enjoy reading them and, after, if you don't want to keep them, sell them on eBay for $5-$6 an issue and make some money. You can't really lose on this. I'm taking a bunch of models to Florida to eBay, and I want to lighten the load a bit by moving these and other paper. I used to be a member of about 20 RR historical societies - too many! Couldn't read all the bulletins. I dropped about ten of them and sold off all the bulletins for good $$$. It works!

OK, since my previous "Swap Meet" postings on selling items that escaped, or were held out of, our thankfully successful estate sale have all sold now, you in frisco.org must like them, at least a few of you do! This will be the last one to bother you with, I promise!

Anyone out there in frisco.org a Seaboard Air Line fan (SAL), or an Atlantic Coast Line fan (ACL)? These roads were popular SLSF southeast connections, and had a lot of early Frisco run-throughs, starting back when this was a new idea.

I have been a member for quite some time of the excellent ACL/SAL Historical Society ..... of which several others in frisco.org are also members (or officers!). I have all the issues of their excellent quarterly publication "Lines South" from 2005 to 2012, 32 issues in all. I have read all of these; otherwise they are in excellent condition.

These 32 issues will all fit in a Medium Priority Mail Flat Rate box, which costs $13.45 to ship, so if you will let me make a bit more than $10 on the deal, I'll ship them all to you for the total sum of $25. That's equal to $0.78 per issue folks. You can enjoy reading them (you will) and then if you don't want to keep them, sell them on eBay if you wish for $5-$6 each. I don't have the time or the ability to ship everything to Florida, where we will be two weeks from tonight, that is required to offer them on eBay.

"Lines South" is very well done, with lots of b/w and usually color pics and the usual HS topics - locos, steam and diesel, freight cars, passenger cars, depots, operations, physical plant, accidents, motor cars, streamliners (they were both pioneers), etc. These are good reads. FYI, I also have the issues from 2013, 2014, and 2015, but I will have to move up to a Large Priority Mail Flat Rate box to include them, but I am willing to do that. The USPS cost will go up to $18.75, but I'll keep the "gain" about equal such that your total cost would be $30 for 44 issues; thus your total cost per issue drops to $0.68.

The ACL/SAL HS also offers an excellent web publication ACL/SAL Modeler. Very well done.

If interested, let me know via PM. Thanks.
