All, I bought a Frisco/Norge 40ft box cars at the OKC train show. This model is Gold with red lettering. I know Life Like and Varney produced this same model in white with blue and black lettering. However, I have not seen nor heard of one painted solid gold with red lettering. The printing on the model is not decals. It also carries the same car number as the white cars. There are some paint chips off the car and it shows no other paint pigments under it. It is stamped Varney on the underframe. Does anyone have information about or seen one of these models? Thanks,
You can take the track cleaning box car sold by Walthers and and put the frame with cleaning pad under the Norge box. It fits really snug. With the addition of some metal wheels and metal couplers you have a nice Frisco track cleaning car
Sounds like you might have a real rare box car there! It would be interesting to know if Norge had Varney or LL produce special run cars for their own company use or for top buyers of their products or both. Joe Toth
