Thanks Jim. It will take some getting used for a lot of folks to but it is a necessary change and in a couple of months I think people will see the benefit. Charlie
I learned the trick to click on "Go to First Unread" to get to the latest postings in a thread. Is there any way to change the order to put the latest posts near the top?
When I go to "recent posts" or "new posts," posts from as old as 2008 appear??? I think I'll just lay low and watch for a while and maybe check back later. I guess (hope) navigation on this site will eventually be getting better... Tom G.
Well, not to argue, by in my (hopefully humble) opinion, the navigation on Xenfor is much better and easier than on vBulletin. It won't be any different than it is no so take a close look and let me know what problems you are having. @TAG1014 if you are having a lot of old posts on the list of new posts, that is cookie based on your end and I am guessing that you never marked the forums as read on the old system. Click "Mark Forums Read" at the top on the navigation bar. This should solve the issue for you. A reminder of the difference between recent and new posts: Recent posts will show all threads that have been posted to recently. New posts will show threads with posts that you have not read (since the last time you marked the forums read). As stated earlier, nothing comes easily and everything is different in some way but you can rest assured that (minus whatever small learning curve is involved) this is a much better system that what we had before. Maybe I didn't post it in the right area first, we all appreciate the work that you guys do for the site. Some of us "ME" old guys just have issues with new stuff, it just takes a while to use. I am sure you guy's know best. Thanks again!
William, Anything that you do not see how to do, etc., please post a question as others may have the same question. I don't claim to know everything about the software as it is somewhat new to me also. I did upgrade TrainBoard first and then Frisco.org. I think we are on the right track. Charlie
I like the new software. The search function seams to be easier to use. Only wish the search would highlight the key words like old system. Great job on transferring all the data. Thank you guys!!! Joe
Tom, The Frisco Archive is still in the same place as always. Nothing has changed with the archive. It is at http://www.frisco.org/mainline Charlie
The new search feature, called Elastisearch, has not yet been installed. Look for that to come tomorrow. Charlie
