I am Pete Dechant living in Arkansas and retired from Law Enforcement. Have been a rail fan most of my life and have lived in the rail towns of Lancaster, Pa, Scranton, Pa. The Detroit area. Durango, Co. Salida, Co.
Now Jasper, Ar. Not a rail town. When my wife and I travel we are always on the lookout for trains.
I have modeled on and off and since in Arkansas I have been looking at FRISCO for my railroad. Today I purchased a Brass FRISCO 2-8-2 Mikado 4200 series and anxious to receive it. I must admit I have brass MKT locos but no marking on them so if they fit in they will become FRISCO. Thanks for allowing to join and I look forward to learning and using the site.

  5. Welcome Pete, I grew up in Jackson Michigan, straight out 94 from you in your Detroit years, sorry about your luck there we spent a lot of time in the big D. HA My grandpa was a guard at Southern Michigan Correctional for over 30 years. You might have sent some tenants his way.

Welcome to frisco.org Pete! I'm from St Louis, and spent time in Rolla, Mo in college. Now in Naples, FL. Long time Frisco fan. Let any of us know if you have any questions about the Frisco - we will gladly try to get you an answer. It's a fun group, and the SLSF was a first class, neat railroad.

Pete, you are just a little too far up the river for any railroad action. You could float down to Gilbert for the old roadbed of the original M&NA or find the few traces of it in Harrison. There are books about the M&NA and the White River Route you should enjoy. Harrison Library should have them.
I'm in Bentonville. What's left of Frisco trackage has been severed at the City limits since no served industries anymore.

Jim, the PFM Toby 4-8-2 is one of the best old locomotives.

    Pete -
I'm a little late on the reply - but welcome nonetheless. Looking forward to hearing how your 2-8-2 looks and runs.
