    I’ve been using the iPhone to upload my photos. I have an iPad also but I don’t have a PC at this point. If I upload into a media file, I can get the photos rightside up? They do orient correctly in the thumbnails.

    Yes. There is a "media tools" feature when you view the image in your media collection. You can rotate the photo there. Later, when posting in a thread, you can click the camera icon and put the media into your post.
