Hello, I'm a BNSF fan and want to learn more about their legacy. Frisco was one of them. I have O and N scale trains. Well, just starting with N gauge. My goal with the N gauge is to stay true to the actual trains on the lines. So as I'm building my collection, I'm looking for society's for each one. I hope people are kind of enough to help me with this. -Anthony
Anthony, Welcome Aboard! Everyone on this site will tell you that the Frisco is the reason the BN survived and was the progenitor of the Santa Fe in many ways. Ask questions, look around; we have plenty to offer.
Keith, Thanks! What got you into Frisco? Do you have model trains at home? If so, which scale? -Anthony
Hello, Anthony, To answer your question to Keith for my part, my family worked for the Frisco in Springfield, Mo. for over 100 years! Guess you could say its in my blood. Got my first cab ride in an F unit at the age of 2, been stuck on trains since!! Welcome aboard!!
Hello Dan, It seems you would know a lot about the Frisco lines. I started to look into the BNSF legacies. I joined the site to make sure my purchases for Frisco are accurate. Kind of like what you and your family saw on the lines. Do you have any pictures? -Anthony
Anthony, my interest in the Frisco was due to the fact that my Great Grandfather worked for the Frisco in Southeast Missouri and my father-in-law was an RPO clerk on the Frisco from Monett, Mo to St Louis. If you want more information check out this link to information and photos about my home town: http://www.frisco.org/vb/showthread.php?1161-Cape-Girardeau-MO I am an HO modeler, modeling the Frisco and the MoP in Cape Girardeau.
Hi, again, Anthony, Unfortunately, all my railroad photos mysteriously disappeared when my first wife and I split up, some 33 years ago!! Drat! Always remember, if you leave, don't go empty handed!!! I was lucky to have rescued my 2 brassies at that time. Don't have them now, wish I did. Had a Decapod and a Consolidation , if memory serves, both purchased from Don Wirth. sighhhhhh!!
There's a mother lode of photos and data of everything Frisco from all eras stashed in various nooks and crannies on this website, just sniff around a little and you'll be amazed at what you find! TAG 1014
Keith please keep me in mind when you do get it up. I wouldn't mind seeing some pictures of your trains. Dan sorry to hear about your photos. Tag thanks but it seems I found a site of what I was looking for. http://www.condrenrails.com/frisco.html This guy Mike Condren made it. He has a link to this site on his. I assume he is on here.
