    More listings today, Dec 18:
Here is Kadee #4008, a Rock Island (CRI&P , RI) 40-ft PS-1 box car, box car red color all over. This one has a 6-ft Youngstown door, built in Dec, 1951. This is RI 22172. See the pic. Note the car carries the great looking Rock Island "100 Years of Progress" logo recognizing the 100th anniversary of the Rock's founding in 1852. If it were not for the Frisco, I'd have been a Rock Island modeler - they ran a block from our house when I was a kid, and they ran through the middle of my grandfather's farm out west of Gerald, MO.
Almost all of the Kadee cars I have, and will be offering here, are out of stock at Kadee. This one went out of stock on May 11, 1998. List price was $29.95. Price to frisco.org is $22 (less than the $24-$28 normal eBay offering price for 40-ft PS1's). Shipping cost is $7 in a Priority Mail box - items can be combined to save on shipping costs. Car comes in its original box, unopened. Payment as described in the many listings above. Nice car. Thanks. (SOLD)

Here is a neat one, Kadee #4030. This is a Chicago & Eastern Illinois (C&EI) 40-ft PS-1 box car, red oxide color all over. This one has a unique 6-ft, 7-panel Superior door, and was built in Feb, 1951. This is C&EI 65593. See the pic. The C&EI was once part of the Frisco System, providing an entrance into Chicago from St. Louis, so this car is a distant relative of the Frisco, so to speak. You won't find many other C&EI models, let alone one of Kadee's quality.
Almost all of the Kadee cars I have, and will be offering here, are out of stock at Kadee. This one went out of stock on August 12, 2002. List price was $27.95. Price to frisco.org is $22 (less than the $24-$28 normal eBay offering price for 40-ft PS1's). Shipping cost is $7 in a Priority Mail box - items can be combined to save on shipping costs. Car comes in its original box. Payment as described in the many listings above. Thanks. (SOLD)

Here is Kadee #5124, a Frisco (SLSF) 40-ft PS-1 box car, red oxide color all over with a black roof and black roof walk. This one has an 8-ft Youngstown door, built in Dec, 1952. This is SLSF 17998. See the pic. It carries the "Frisco Fast Freight" logo along with its beautiful black & white coonskin logo.
Almost all of the Kadee cars I have, and will be offering here, are out of stock at Kadee. This one went out of stock on May 1, 2013. List price was $35.95. Price to frisco.org is $23 (less than the $24-$28 normal eBay offering price for 40-ft PS1's). Shipping cost is $7 in a Priority Mail box - items can be combined to save on shipping costs. Car comes in its original box which has not been opened. Thanks. (SOLD)

Here is Kadee #4814, a classic Monon (CIL, later MON) 40-ft PS-1 box car, box car red all over with a black roof and ends. The Monon was one of the first railroads to support the Pullman Standard PS-1 box car product. I grew to like watching the Monon while at Purdue in graduate school in 1967-1968 - it ran right through the middle of Lafayette, IN. This car has 7-ft, 5-panel Superior doors, and was built in Apr, 1952. This is CIL 861. See the pic. It carries the "M" Hoosier Line logo on the car sides, and the distinctive white band with black "The Hoosier Line" lettering along the top of the car sides. Most of the Monon PS-1's carried this paint scheme at one time or another in their early life.
Almost all of the Kadee cars I have, and will be offering here, are out of stock at Kadee. This one went out of stock on April 12, 2006. List price was $31.95. Price to frisco.org is $23 (less than the $24-$28 normal eBay offering price for 40-ft PS1's). Shipping cost is $7 in a Priority Mail box - items can be combined to save on shipping costs. Payment as described in the many postings above. Car comes in its original box, which is unopened. Thanks. (SOLD)

Sherrel, hover your mouse over your name in the upper right at the top of this page, and then right-click on Conversations and select Open in New Tab . In the window that opens, click on the Start a Conversation button, and then put Ken's username meteor910 in the Participants (TO:) box. The rest is obvious.

lol .. Keith, Not that obvious to a mentally handicapped computer person like me! I made it that far .. but got lost NOT knowing that I had to "click" on the Start a Conversation button again to send it! Finally did it! I had used it before several times, but had forgot how to do it - The old 'use it or lose it" scenario. I kept looking for a "send" button.

    Here are three more Kadee's:
Here is Kadee #8610, a Florida East Coast (FEC) 2-bay, 2003 ft3 PS-2 covered hopper, LO, the usual alkali gray color all over. This one has the strap roof hatch covers as opposed to the notched covers the Frisco used. This car also has scale Kadee couplers. Build date was Jun, 1955. This is FEC 14085, likely used in sand, cement or phosphate service. The Kadee model is the best example of this popular car in my opinion - I've tried them all! See the pic.
Almost all of the Kadee cars I have, and will be offering here, are out of stock. This one went out of stock on Feb 24, 2004. List price was $38.95. Price to frisco.org is $33 (less than the eBay offering prices for PS-2's as well). Shipping cost is $7 in a Priority Mail box - items can be combined to save on shipping costs. Car comes in its original box, this one is unopened. Thanks. (SOLD)

Here is Kadee #4036, a Santa Fe (ATSF) 40-ft PS-1 box car, dark Tuscan red color all over with a black roof. This one has a 6-ft Youngstown door, the usual for the ATSF, and was built in May, 1950. This is ATSF 31343. See the pic. It carries the "Route of the Chief" logo on one side, the ATSF system map on the other. The Chief was the Santa Fe's premier passenger train of the early diesel era. ATSF cars such as this one certainly appeared on Frisco rails.
Almost all of the Kadee cars I have, and will be offering here, are out of stock at Kadee. This one went out of stock on June 30, 2001. List price was $28.95. Price to frisco.org is $21 (less than the $24-$28 normal eBay offering price for 40-ft PS1's). Shipping cost is $7 in a Priority Mail box - items can be combined to save on shipping costs. Car comes in its original box, this one is unopened. Thanks. (SOLD)

Here is Kadee #4902, a Cotton Belt (St. Louis Southwestern) 40-ft PS-1 box car, box car red color sides with black ends and roof. This one has an unusual 7-ft 5-panel Superior door, and carries the name St Louis Southwestern rather than the later use of their Cotton Belt nickname above the reporting numbers, an uncommon model It does also carry the neat "Blue Streak Fast Freight" logo on the car sides. The car was built in Nov, 1954. This is SSW 34091. See the pic.
Almost all of the Kadee cars I have, and will be offering here, are out of stock at Kadee. This one went out of stock on March 22, 2002. List price was $28.95. Price to frisco.org is $22 (less than the $24-$28 normal eBay offering price for 40-ft PS1's). Shipping cost is $7 in a Priority Mail box - items can be combined to save on shipping costs. Car comes in its original box, unopened. Thanks. (withdrawn, no longer for sale)

    Hey Roger, thanks.
The Kadee 4008 Rock Island PS-1 is still available, as is the Kadee 4814 Monon PS-1 (love the stripe!). The Kadee Cotton Belt 4902 is on hold for a friend. Would the Kadee Cotton Belt 5210 work instead? - it also has a Superior door, though it is an 8-ft 6-panel one.
I can't get three in a $7 box, as the weight will drive it up to ~$9 for two, ~$11 for three. Even one is two big to use the USPS small fixed rate box (which is so small it is virtually unusable for almost anything).
    Let me know.
    Ken
ps - I've been using so many Priority Mail boxes I had to send in another order this morning to build up my stock.
ps #2 - You seem to like the Monon (good man, nice little railroad). FYI, there is a Monon 2-bay offset hopper available, Kadee 7015 still available. See my earlier listing.

Ken, yes I'll take the SSW 5210 instead, just so my math is correct 22+22+23=67 +11 = $78.00, correct? As for the Monon, it's different, catches your eye, I like the hopper but I just don't have a use for it. When I first started running trains on the Pokey, the 1st thing I noticed was I need more variety in the freight car area. Like you said, Frisco trains just didn't haul Frisco cars. That's main reason I quit going to train shows, I'm not paying $15.00 to stand around & watch Santa Fe trains run around in circles...

    Roger

BTW-I was the lucky winner on ebay of the Atlas RS1 #111 this weekend, it's going to be a good Christmas...for me!!!!

    Roger -
Thanks. Yes, you got 'em. Kadee's 4008 (RI), 4814 (Monon), and 5210 (SSW). Your math is correct - $67 plus $11 shipping via Priority Mail. Payment as usual via PayPal "friends & family" would be great. I'll mark them all sold, and pack them up for you.
Glad to see some roads other than Frisco are selling a bit now. You can't have an all Frisco train, and these Kadee models of foreign roads are just as spectacular as are the Frisco ones. And for sure, RI, SSW and, yes even Monon now and then, were seen on SLSF rails.
Merry Christmas to you and yours Roger!
    Ken

ps - Congrats on the Frisco RS-1. Nice model, runs great. Look at the wonderful work Tom Holly is doing on the RS-1 (SLSF 101) he bought from me.

Thanks Ken, these are the first Kadee's I ever bought, I saw them when they came out but back then I just couldn't see spending $35.00 on a freight car, today that's the norm. Yeah every time I saw Tom's RS1 I kicked myself in the butt for missing out, that was the 1st one I had seen in years. Then last week someone put both 101 & 111 up for bid & I wasn't going to miss this 2nd chance. I choose the 111 because I could never get the 101 to look as good as Tom's, just don't have the skills. Who knows, maybe one day the two might mu up & get to run together. The RS1's were used frequently on the Pokey & Winona branch, now if I could only get a coach/caboose #843/844....Merry Christmas Ken

    Roger -
Yeah, the Kadee's are expensive, but given the quality, the accuracy, and the fact you don't need to add details, trucks or couplers, they are close to being reasonable. As you know, I bought the very first one, the 4001 Monon you bought a week or so ago, and I've been selectively buying them since. About a year ago, I had at least one of every Frisco release Kadee did, and enjoyed working with them a bit on the Frisco 2-bay hopper (7038). A year ago, I thinned down the Frisco's, and now am doing it even more. Still have a couple more to go!(*) That one (the 2-bay) is a rare exception for Kadee - they knowingly released it with an error. The bottom hatch locks are not the right type. But, they are so small, nobody notices.
There was a guy who shopped at Tinkertown here that collected Kadees. He bought every one of every release, and never opened a box. Since Tinkertown closed, I've wondered if he is still at it, because Kadee is still releasing new ones!
    Ken

(*) Folks, the Frisco PS-2 2-bay covered hopper is still unclaimed!

I hope all of you in frisco.org had a very merry Christmas for you and your families and friends.

Hey Ken, remember that Genesis GP38-2 you sold me? Here it is, just finished it up last night. I renumbered #444 in honor of the engine I rode on the QLA from Memphis to Thayer in 1979. It's got a TSU-GN1000 sound decoder with an NCE No Halt capacitor, 10X33cm (I think) cell phone speaker & LED lights all the way around. I even drilled out the gyralite & added a slow blinking LED. The rotary beacon is wired to function #5 & it does light up but doesn't flash, don't know why. Anyway runs like a champ, thanks! Roger
