    Hi All,

Does anyone have a complete list of heavyweight Frisco cars, other than business cars and cars received from Pullman, that had names applied for even a portion of their careers?

Here's the list I have currently:

    Coaches:
    Joplin (1075)
    Okmulgee (1076)
    Wichita (1077)
    Enid
    Ft. Smith

    Cafe-Lounge cars:
    Kansas City (1508)
    Birmingham (1509)
    Memphis (ex-Springfield,1510)

    Buffet-Lounge cars:
    Glendale (1603)

    Lounge cars:
    1401 (Oklahoma City)
    1402 (Tulsa)

    Buffet Sleeper Cars:
    Memphis (1705)
    Pensacola (1706)

I think you have all of them right there in your list Paul. I have an ORPTE and Bob Wayner's "Cars, Names and Numbers" book and I'll check closer tonight.

Paul--Your named HW car list is complete at least since HW lounges "Oklahoma City" and "Tulsa" (Later 1401 and 1402) were converted from diners in 1934.

    Thanks Tom.

I was looking to see just how many of the car names on the Oddballs decal sheets we could use without re-arranging letters. If this list is complete, the only valid car names on that sheet are:

    Kansas City
    Tulsa
    Memphis

The sheet has other descriptive words that were used (coach, diner, etc) but those are the only names that are correct (since the business car "Saint Louis" had the name spelled out, and the sheet has "St Louis").

I've been scheming how I might put the "aint" on that St. Louis decal. I was even thinking of cutting and piecing some names together from the existing sheets or alphabets, but it would take a REAL steady hand!
If you're interested in the red and silver lightweights, Oddballs has a "freelance" M-K-T passenger car sheet in red with "Oklahoma City" that could also be used for the Frisco. (Note: Not all these are even good for the Katy)
