[IMG] He was in freight, then sales, so he did not wear it every day.

  2. What year do you think this hard hat at was used? Was it heavy.? My father had 1 this shape
when he was a civil defense block captain during WWII. As a kid, I would try it on, ....
it was so heavy it hurt my neck.
Stop to think about WWII days, Civil Defense, did they really think that Germany and Japan would be dropping bombs on St. Louis?
Did the city really have to have black-out drills? Those short goofy movies at the theater, propaganda putting the public i fear
that bombs could be dropped soon on St. Louis.

    Interesting!

This was a work helmet, not for civil defense.
My father was a sales manager, but he had to have a safety hat when he went to the rail yards.
It is made of some plastic material and is not heavy.
It was probably used about 1960 to 1980.

It is hanging on the wall in my garage. I have one section where I mow that has some low branches and sometimes I wear it for that.
