Hi again. I've dug into my last four boxes of model railroad items I brought with me to Florida. I'd like to offer some items for sale as I have done the last three years on and off. These will include both Frisco and non-Frisco items. I'm continuing to thin down as I know I will not have a layout, and plan to focus my remaining work on building a few models for display, mainly passenger equipment. Working on another Pullman now.

Let's start with these. Lots more to come. All items are HO scale.

Kadee 50-ft PS-1 boxcar, SLSF 7600, single 9-ft Youngstown door, Kadee item #6007, out of stock at Kadee 11/22/2000, Built 1/56, classic "Ship it" lettering, boxcar red, $28.95 original cost, like new in original plastic box. For a good pic, look it up on the Kadee site. Excellent model. Yours for $25.00 plus shipping. Ship via USPS first class or Priority Mail, your call. (Sold, eBay)

Yardmaster 40-ft express boxcar, SLSF 149194, used in passenger service, item 8016, Youngstown door, Pullman green color, black/yellow Frisco Lines logo, crisp lettering, built 7/42, $9.98 original cost, now equipped with proper Allied Full Cushion trucks from Eastern Car Works, $5.00 original truck kit cost but fitted with metal wheel sets, Kadee couplers, looks really great, one door very slightly ajar. Excellent model. Check Yardmaster web site for pic. Yours for $18.00 plus shipping. Ship via USPS first class or Priority Mail, your call. Hard to find this car with the proper trucks. This actual car was pictured in one of the early RP Cyc booklets. (SOLD)

    And ....
Athearn Genesis Frisco EMD powered FP7A, o/w paint scheme, SLSF 50 (previously SLSF 5050), built 2/50, Genesis #ATHG22584 #A, all Genesis features, never been out of the box, mint. For pic, see Genesis web page. List price was $359.98. My cost was $288.00 from Nebraska shop. In original box with all Genesis papers. Yours for $249.00 plus shipping. Ship via Priority Mail. Neat locomotive. (No longer available)

Payment for any of the above items requested via PayPal to meteor910@mindspring.com. Use the "Friends and Family" option applicable to us so the normal PayPal service charge will be avoided.

Thanks for looking. Send me any questions you may have.

    More to follow.

    Ken

You might want to check with PayPal as the last time I used friends and family to pay someone, I was charged a fee by PayPal.

    Robert -
Still works fine. All the payer needs to do is to select "Friends & Family" before entering payment. I've never had a problem with this working as long as this mode is requested, including last night. All is well with PayPal.
    Thanks.

That might be okay if you do not receive any large payments or many payments.

You obviously cannot use "friends & family" for every transaction you might use PayPal for. I have used "friends & family" successfully for several years now. My use record shows why they always have accepted it - I specify "friends & family" for transactions I have selling to frisco.org members. I do not ask for the "friends & family" discount when I use PayPal to sell something on eBay, or to sell items to any of the other trade markets, or to various other people. I buy and sell a lot of things using PayPal - it's a good system. No request for relief from the commission from me. Only one organization - frisco.org, which I have been a member of for over 24 years now. They have obviously learned that I have many friends in frisco.org, and hence have approved the "friends & family" request for items I have sold to frisco.org members. Perhaps two or three times I've not escaped the fee on a sale to a frisco.org member. I have always just assumed the member forgot to request "friends &. family". No big deal. I've lost more $$ miscalculating the shipping on an item I've sold to frisco.org folks (happened again today!) than I've lost by not getting the fee relief from a frisco.org member who forget to request "friends & family". I've had many more transactions using PayPal to other folks than I've had with frisco.org folks.
PayPal's "friends & family" feature is still working well, no problem. It worked for me last night on a frisco.org sale. Fear not, just don't abuse it.

You don't pay a fee for buying something using PayPal, only when you sell something is there a fee to you, unless you request "friends & family".

He's letting you know that if you pay for something using "friends & family," the buyer has to pay a fee. There's no free lunch. I bought an F3 from you in 2017 and selected "friends & family," and paid a fee of $1.69:

    Note
    F3A
    Details
    Sent to Wulfert Consullting Limited
    $48.00
    Fee
    $1.69
    Total
    $49.69

Well, if you pay anybody, just wait a while, they will sneak in some kind of a FEE. Now Day's my cable bill looks like a hospital bill. I seem to all the sudden get a channel, that I didn't know I had, followed some time later by a Fee. Funny Huh, my shipping and Fees are more cost than what I bought. Must be all those tariff's, materials costs and extra'a Of Well

OK, thanks GNA. I didn't know that the "F & F" option also has implications for buyers if they select it per my request as a seller. I stand corrected. Learn something new every day. All I have ever used "F & F" for is for a sale to a frisco.org friend.
I thought PP just waived the fee! Fees - ya just can't get away from them it seems!
    Sorry.

I'm surprised in the complete lack of any response at all to the three items I posted for sale on 8/28. If you would, let me know your responses to these questions. I'd like to hear from you before I post additional items, Frisco plus others.
    There were no responses because:
o I just don't want to buy anything more now
o I'm not interested in these three specific items
o The price asked is too high
o No pictures of the items were included
o The item descriptions were not specific enough
    o Anything else

    Thanks!

I'm interested in the locomotive Ken, just bad timing for me.

I have three GP7s on order, took a huge hit on my deductible for surgery this year.
Christmas will be here before we know it. Gotta budget for the grandkids.

Not complaining, just can't swing it at this time. It goes for the AB set offered earlier by Richard too.

I can think of a few reasons why the market has been depressed for Frisco related models lately:

    1. The Frisco was absorbed into the BN almost 39 years ago. People with direct knowledge of the Frisco are becoming fewer all the time.

    2. In my case, I've been collecting Frisco models for the past 20-30 years. The models that Ken is offering, for example, I already have. I'm thinking of downsizing my collection rather than adding to it.

    3. It's obvious that the younger generation has other interests than model railroading. Railroading is not as big an aspect of American's lives as it once was, say a hundred years ago.

    Ken,
I just dont need what you have offered my friend. The only one might interested in, would be that Express Boxcar. Did they run in general freight service as you have it modeled?
I am a bit miffed yet as to $$350.00 plastic locomotives, even though yours is offered at a hundreds bucks off. I also have some rather large deductibles coming up to re-attach a muscle on my left quad, that tore away earlier this year. Its just not good timing for me either. I would like to have that FP7, just not that crazy about it. BTW does it have dynamic brakes on the model?

Thanks to you guys for your comments. Keep 'em coming!

Tom - No d/b's on the Genesis FP7A, which is correct. They did not have them.

ps - Everybody in Florida is watching Dorian on TWC. This hurricane is crazy, it does not know what it wants to do. Fortunately, it does not look like Naples will be impacted, except for some rain storms.

    Couple reasons not to buy:
    1. I’m trying to limit myself to 1950, so PS-1s and O/W are out.
    2. Already own the yard master express car.
I was tempted by the F3s Pensive posted, but I already have enough locomotives. (Or so my wife says).

Ken, I'll take the Yardmaster Express box, USPS First Class. I have the other two items already, but the FP7A is tempting to create another number, however I am more than set on power...

I'm gonna stick my neck out and say that maybe the reason GARY was charged a fee is that the payee was shown as Wulfert Consulting Limited - which would NOT be "friends and family"? I am just guessing here, but I have sent money to many folks and NOT been charged a FEE!

Answering your other question, Ken ... Right now it's both a question of timing and the offerings ...
