Bad news, Lloyd will be missed.

He did some good work in the railroad publications field. I remember how excited I was back around 1980 when I bought my copy of Lloyd's "Steam Locomotives of the Frisco Line". That was the first book I ever had dedicated to Frisco motive power. I read it on an Amtrak train ride back to St. Louis from Washington DC.

My first Frisco book was from Mr Stagner in 1980, too. I was in the service at Keisler AFB, living in BOQ when the book arrived in the mail on a Friday. I remember spending all weekend pouring over every single page.

Although Mr Stagner is recognized for his outstanding work as an ATSF historian, we in the Frisco community revere him for his fine Steam Locomotives book....

    In memory,
