Except for some tweaks that the photos made evident 4148 is the latest engine to hit Newburg. PFM USRA running gear, boiler/cab scratchbuilt, 1500 tender converted to coal. Tsunami TS1000 Hvy Steam decoder.
Magnificent! Wish you'd post a group photo of your whole roster at the roundhouse. I'd like to see some of these buddies side by side. Tom G.
Wow, not only have you rebuilt and operated the real ones, you can actually build these scale works of art. Quite impressive. Looks awesome !
If I can do it with my big hands, bad eyes and now tremors, anyone can. It just takes patience. I have two left on the shelf to finish. An 0-6-0 and a 4-6-0 which is about 75% done. I still need to take roster shots of my engines if for no other reason for insurance purposes.
Don - How many 4100's does this give you now? While we wait for a photo of the total collection, how about a roster listing, including the 0-6-0 and 4-6-0 still in the shop? No matter how you account for it, quite impressive, a wonderful collection, and total top craftsman quality work. You do the Frisco proud! K
Don, Every time I drool over your steam Locomotives, makes me want to model steam, wow what a piece of art this one is too. Thanks you!!
Sister 4114 will be working on the road between Louisville and Chatanooga tomorrow morning on the Knoxville club layout. She's a Broadway Limited, but doesn't look nearly as good.
I second Ken Wulfert's idea of just a list of your roster until you can get around to taking some photos. I'd also like to see some of your rolling stock since I'm a passenger train geek. Tom G.
Thank you guys, but I don't consider myself anything more than ordinary. I just take my time and try to duplicate what was.
One thing that's REALLY neat, and it's very small detail, is the little dusting of rust on 4148's front coupler. It's those "little things" that make a great model! Tom G.
