A close look at this photo appears to be KCFS&G cars at the Roller Mill at Rosedale. What do you all think? Higher resolution version at: https://digital.lib.ku.edu/ku-kscoll/46#page/1/mode/1up "The Kansas Rolling Mill, Cooper Shop, and Coal Mine Operated from 1875 to 1883 - Rosedale, Kansas"
Love that pic! Rosedale... as in the current south end of the Southwest Blvd area?? If so: Perfect example of why I have such a "thing" for 19th century railroading! That looks NOTHING like the Rosedale of the mid-20th century! So fascinating. Thanks for posting this, Robert! Andre EDIT: Here's a cropped version of the pic:
Robert Thomas is the contributor of this image. I am trying to discover the perspective and location of this photograph.
Found a Sanborn Map...we're looking railroad south toward Ft Scott... Rosedale Coal is on the right. We are very close to the intersection of SW Blvd and Mission Rd.
WOW! See? SEE? That's why the link 'n pin eras are soooo fascinating! Andre BTW: Oh my, so right your are Karl. Robert T. posted the pic. I shall edit my correction immediately.
