    Hi Troops:

Going to be in KC next week to visit the last of my Aunt's (2 of them) on mom's side. They're aging-out way too fast on me.

Wife and I will have a small amount of free time one of the late afternoons... was wondering if that hobby shop that was down in the West Bottoms is still in business? (Was it "The Caboose"?)

If not, are there any hobby shops to browse n' buy worth the inconvenience of fighting the traffic to get to it?

    Thanks for any input.

Doc's Caboose is still open at 1400 Union Ave hard by the U.P main line. Larry F.

Thanks Larry! It still being open is good news. Though I have no interest in seeing Doc's caboose... but I would like to visit his hobby shop.

I think we can fit in a trip over that way either before 5 PM on Tuesday, or on Wednesday morning before we go over to the Tenderloin Grill for our ritual tenderloin sandwich meal.

Been a few years since the wife and I have been to KC. We used to go almost yearly.

EDIT: With the loss of "Stacks" on Choteau Trafficway... is there a good place in the KC area to get a great "Italian Steak" sandwich? Wife and I love those too. Neither tenderloins or Italian Steak sandwiches are not available in the region we live. We try to make it a point to eat one of each when we're there.

Doc's Caboose is the name of the hobby shop. I'm down there almost every Friday. Cool people to deal with. Larry

Andre, there is also Show-Me Model Railroad Company at 810 Main St Grandview, MO 6403o (lots of inventory) and also Fred's Train Shop at 9322 W. 87th St., Overland Park, KS 66212 (a shop that is growing in new space).

Andre, if you still have my contact info, give me a call and maybe we could meet for lunch or dinner. I could also get you in to see a railroad or two.

    Mornin' Keith!

I'm a'feared I'm going to be hard pressed to even fit in one visit to a hobby shop. Our time is going to be tight. I had forgotten about that hobby shop in Grandview. I do recall having visited that one way back over 10 - 15 years ago and I now recall that it was very well stocked. I'll have to check their hours via online to see if maybe a quick visit there on the way out of KC on Wednesday can be worked in. (Doubt it. Reservations at the Bavarian Inn in Eureka Springs with plans to eat supper at a German restaurant there that evening.) Right now, our plans are to try to accomplish at least two things in KC, meal wise: Some Italian Steaks for one meal, and lunch at the Tenderloin Grill on SW Boulevard on Wednesday before we leave for Eureka Springs, AR. IF our plans for the Tenderloin Grill come to fruition, maybe meet up there with us?

I "think" I still have your contact info? I'll have to look. Speaking of which: I also "think" I have two Tsunami EMD decoders that I purchased through you for installation a couple years ago? Am I remembering correctly? If so, I need to make a decision on which engines will get them and ship them off to you for installation.

    All fer this one!

Andre, I have two TSU-GN1000 EMD 567 decoders in the file for you; bring engines with you. Wednesday is an open day for me, so we could connect, even if for just a quick, Hello. Check your email.

    All:

In North KC as I type. Already made one hobby shop stop (Show-Me in Grandview). Great inventory! It must be wonderful to have nicely supplied train shops in which to frequent. Made a small purchase to help support. Leaving soon to go try a dive that's reputed to have good Italian Steak sandwiches. We shall see!

    Keith:

Tried texting you to see if gets through. Didn't bring any loco's with me because I haven't decided which ones will get the decoders as yet.

    All fer now!
