Having a little problem getting the floor plan of the Cherryvale depot straight in my mind. Does anyone know if the floor levels were at different hieghts for the depot and the frieght room. I want to model this and just can't get this in my mind. The floor plan shows a platform and steps in the frieght room.

    Bob:

Just a wild guess on my part but it looks like there was no interior connecting door between the main depot and the freight room. The adjoining wall was the men's restroom comprising the whole length. I see no door opening visible. Having said that it may have been that there was a platform inside the freight room with steps going up to it so that items could be stored on two levels.

Those steps were the steps up to the upper level of the depot. There were shed dormers out each end of the hip roof and there were windows in the second story of the tower; look at the pictures. The ground floor for the freight room and the rest of the depot were on the same grade. There are no steps at any of the doors to the outside.

Thanks Kieth and Bob. I wasnt thinking very well yesterday. I noticed there were no doors between the frieght and passenger sides. I totally forgot about the upstairs and didnt look for stairs in the passenger end. It must be something to do with my advancing years. Thanks again and I hope all is well with the both of you.
