Frisco modelers are frequently on the lookout for rolling stock that is road-appropriate. The Kanotex Refining Company was based in Caney, Kansas. The Frisco ran through the townships of Cherry and West Cherry in Northeast Montgomery County Kansas, and Caney is located in the Southwest part of Montgomery County, but these cars would have been good candidates to travel the tracks of the SL-SF, AT&SF, MP, and MKT Railroads.

Micro-Trains released a Kanotex tank car in 2013, and now, Intermountain Railway Company is releasing six road numbers of their ACF Type 27 Riveted 8,000 Gallon Tank Cars.

According to Intermountain, these cars feature sharp painting and lettering, finely molded details, and Intermountain metal wheelsets. The item/road numbers are 66346-01/8309, 66346-02/8311, 66346-03/8314, 66346-04/8318, 66346-05/8320, and 66346-06/8326.

The models were announced on March 17 and reservations are due by April 30. Delivery is expected in October or November. The MSRP is $26.95.
