Important scenery question

    Yeah I know but it’s this layout or no layout. I’m an operations type and that’s what I really want. And from that standpoint it’s pretty good. It needs the track rubbed down with an old piece of cork roadbed once or twice a week, other than that, it’s fine. I’m not happy building kits and scratch building without a layout to run.

    It’s the ground cover and ballast scenery that I had concerns with and what I was asking about. I think I’ve got enough to try something with some degree of confidence.

    Going down to operate now. 87F and 70% humidity! Who else can compare? Excluding garden railroads. 36” floor fan makes it possible. I grew up without an air conditioner , I’m sure many of you did too . I can take it!

    Night operation is the challenge . Not the temperature, it’s the bugs flying around the lights. The fan does a pretty good job of keeping them away.
